The story
"Our ZOO-design prints are a creative alternative to the traditional solid-colored children's products on the market. We know that children are stimulated by the colors and the beautiful prints." – Mie Bjerregaard, Owner of ZOO-design.
ZOO-design has existed since 2017, and the company has grown rapidly with an international customer base, where the largest markets are the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. For over 7 years has ZOO-design been built on WordPress and WooCommerce, but this solution has often proven difficult to maintain for the founder, who is not technically proficient. ZOO-design has developed so rapidly that it became difficult to adapt the website's logic and structure, which now contains over 500 products. For a long time, there has been a clear need for a more structured, intuitive, and easily navigable platform.
We therefore started rethinking the structure of how customers view the products, as this was the most important aspect. Instead of product variations appearing as separate products, we developed a new structure. For example, if a bib has prints of wild animals in different colors, those products will now appear as variants under “Bib - Wild animals,” where customers can choose between Panda/Black, Tiger/Yellow, Elephant/Gray, etc.
The new improved platform is based on Shopify and includes everything a modern platform needs today. Multiple payment methods, integrated shipping and labeling services, and a translation app for English, French, and German, among others.
The final product
The main task was to create a more user-friendly and adaptable platform for both customers and the founder of ZOO-design. The Shopify solution makes it easy for users to find and sort products according to their preferences, while maintenance has become much more manageable. The website is fully responsive and translated into English, French, and German to reach a wider international audience.
